Counting a repeated text in a range of cells

If you would like to count repeated entry of particular string in a range of cells, we can count it using CONTIF formula.



In the above referred table, we have names of persons; we have counted the repeated entry of the name “Rose” using the =COUNTIF(A1:A10,"Rose"), the formula had counted the repeated entry of “Rose” and return the value as 3, since we have 3 repeated entry for the stated name.
