Sum based on a condition from another column:
If you would like to get the sum of values in a range of cell and based on a condition that satisfied in another column.
In the table at right, we have values in two columns, in the first column we have different type of products and in the second column we have the stock in hand for each product.
In the above example, we have calculated stock of the washing machine using the =SUMIF(B6:B15,"=Washing machine",C6:C15) this formula executes in two way. 1st it verifies the products in the product column for refrigerator and in the 2nd part it sums the stock of the product referred.
